Oh These Irish Hills!
Sponsored research on four historically significant properties
in the Irish Hills. This research has been completed and
was submitted to the State
Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) for recommendation
to the National
Park Service on the properties’ suitability
as certified historic structures on the National
Register of Historic Places. Click on the links below
to view a short history on each of the four properties
drawn from that research.
The wood frame Walker
Tavern, now part of the Michigan
Historical Museum System and St. Michaels Church
are also listed on the National Register. Excepting
St. Michaels, all these properties are located along
Michigan Ave. (U.S. Highway 12). If you would like more
